  • DATES: February 12-14, 1971 Washington's Birthday Weekend
  • VENUE: Lord Baltimore Hotel, Baltimore, MD
    Lord Baltimore Hotel

  • CHAIR: Ted Pauls, Dave Halterman, & Mark Owings
  • GoH: Harry Harrison
  • Memories From Mark Owings:

images/1x1.gif "It was late November of 1970 when Ted Pauls decided to try for another Balticon, and talked to Dave Halterman and I about working on it. He got a guest of honor, Harry Harrison, contacted the Lord Baltimore Hotel, and had a flyer out on the third weekend of December, seven weeks before the convention.
images/1x1.gif The high point, I suppose, of that Balticon was when Harrison and Ted White, the immediately former and then-current editors of AMAZING and FANTASTIC, started hurling insults at each other and then escalated the volume of their voices with each round."

  • Balticon 5 Committee & Staff: Unknown, but if you have any information concerning this convention that you would like to see included here, please send it to "webmeister at bsfs dot org" and look for it to be published here!!
